One of the biggest and most media-prone crimes in the Homeland War occurred on 13 October 1991 in the Lika village of Široka Kula, near Gospić. It culminatedin the month-longabuse of Croats by their neighbours of Serb ethnicity. The number of victims in Široka Kula was stopped at 33, and seven other Croats were killed in the surrounding villages. The remains of ten people have not yet been found. Nobody has been held responsible for the crimes against Croats to this day.

Bernardin Modrić (Ogulin, 1954) directed his debut Pdhum 12. VII. 1942. in 1980. Along withe the feature documentary film Rock Tribe’s Rhythm, he has made around 130 other short and medium-length fiction and documentary films, screened and awarded both in Croatia and abroad.
