EUROPEAN UNION FRIEND OF 60TH PULA
The first part of the 60th Pula Film Festival’s Europolis International Programme, taking place from July 13 – 27 this year on Kastel and at the Valli Cinema, was presented in Europe House Zagreb on Wednesday, March 28. This year’s Friend of the Festival is the European Union. Cinemas of all 27 member countries of the EU will be presented to the audience by screening their feature-length and short films according to the selection by Festival’s artistic director Zlatko Vidačković. This year once again the programme will be screened at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, on Rijeka’s Croatia Art Theatre’s summer stage, at Tuškanac Summer Movie Theatre, and in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb.
According to the announcement of the artistic director, the French thriller In the House (Dans la maison) by François Ozon, Italian drama Me and You (Io e te) by Bernard Bertolucci, German historical film Ludwig II by Marie Noelle and Peter Sehr, British thriller Scapegoat by Charles Sturridge, Italian love drama The Best Offer (La migliore offerta) by Giuseppe Tornatore, and French-Italian crime thriller The Lookout (Le guetteur) by Michele Placido will premiere at Pula. The first seven European short films were presented too. The second half of the International Programme films will be announced following the closure of the Cannes Film Festival.
Festival’s director Zdenka Višković-Vukić talked about the marketing campaign of the 60th Festival, announcing that the wish box with virtual candles would soon set out on a Croatian tour from Zagreb, Osijek and Zadar to Poreč and Rijeka.
