PULA FILM FESTIVAL IN THE EU MEDIA PROGRAMME
The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency announced that the Pula Film Festival has been included in the MEDIA programme of the European Union for the first time. In the year when Croatia is becoming part of the EU this is a confirmation that the Festival meets the high film festival standards of the EU MEDIA programme. Financial support amounting to 20000 Euros is earmarked for co-financing the costs of screening films from the Europolis International Programme, i.e. films from EU member countries and other countries included in the MEDIA.
The Pula Film Festival, which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, launched the European film programme in 2001. The first selection of European films was made by director Dalibor Matanić. Since 2005 the programme has been selected by Festival’s artistic director Zlatko Vidačković.
