SUBMISSIONS FOR 10TH “BRING YOUR OWN FILM!” OPEN
Pula, May 11, 2013. - Submissions for the “Bring your own film!” short amateur film competition are in progress. After taking place for ten consecutive years as one of the Festival’s sidebar programmes, this year the project celebrates its tenth anniversary. The competition is open until June 7, 2013. Submitted films will be screened as part of the 60th edition of the festival that will run July 13 – 27, 2013.
Films lasting up to one minute can take part in the competition. Films can and do not need to be edited, and one author can participate with up to two projects. The films selected for the competition programme compete in the following categories:
-best film (or best idea) according to the jury (the decision is reached by the jury composed by the organizer),
-best film according to the audience (the decision is reached by the visitors who can cast their votes online at http://www.pulafilmfestival.hr/ and http://www.max.tportal.hr/ from June 21 until July 21).
The jury deciding on the best film comprises: editor-in-chief of the web portal Ravno do dna Zoran Stajčić, film critic and journalist of the daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija Jakov Kosanović, as well as multimedia artist and director Matija Debeljuh. Hrvatski Telekom, a long-term partner of the festival, provides valuable awards for the winners.
1st prize: Sony Xperia Z + MAXtv To Go
2nd prize: Samsung Galaxy S3 mini + MAXtv To Go
The prize for best film according to the jury will be handed in at the Awards Ceremony in the Arena on July 27, 2013. The winner and their escort will get free accommodation in Pula from July 25 – 28.
Svetlana Barać, the leader of the Bring Your Own Film! Programme remarks: “Each year the competition is overflown with interesting and original works of high quality. And we are very proud of it. That is why we are so eager to receive the applications for this year’s round-number anniversary of the programme.”
