Izidor Popijač Žiga Bednjanski, who has won numerous awards and acknowledgments, is a peculiar self-taught artist from Zagorje. He works in sculpture and relief in two native materials - clay and water oak. He has found and is the first professional guardian of the fossil oak (quercus fosillica), which he gets from the bed of the Bednja River to make various artefacts.
