Before the official opening ceremony of Pula Film Festival, city galleries and museums will host a range of special exhibitions focused on film. The first exhibition to open is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, 11 July, at the HUiU Gallery (Gallery of the Croatian Association of Interdisciplinary Artists), and it is the exhibition titled Concept By: Mihajlo Arsovski - Graphic Design in Books and Journals from 1960 to Today. The exhibition presents the body of work by prominent graphic designer in graphic design of books and scholarly journals, and includes issues designed in the time period from the early 1960s to today. An hour later, at 8 p.m., the SKUC Gallery will be the host of the opening of the multimedia exhibition Sonja Savić: A City Girl, which will show five works by the artist that can be considered can be considered anthological in terms of their significance and artistic value within experimental and alternative film and video production.

The exhibition Jasenko Rasol: Extras will open at the Makina Gallery at 9 p.m. on Friday, 12 July. The exhibition destabilises the hierarchy of the film set by bringing the people in the background to the forefront. The photographs were taken at film sets, including the film The Diary of Diana B., directed by Dana Budisavljević which will premiere at this year’s Pula Film Festival, and in which Jasenko Rasol was the DOP.

The works by students in first and second grade of the School of Applied Arts and Design from Pula will be exhibited at Valli Cinema. The students, mentored by professor Denis Sardoz, will present their reinterpretation of the visual identity of the 66th Pula Film Festival, which was developed by Marko Rašić.

The MEMO Museum has added a new, additional section to its collection, one which focuses on the Film Festival in Pula from the end of 1950s to the 1980s. Festival audiences can visit the new section for free with their accreditation, pass or tickets starting from 13 July until the closing of the Festival.
