Serenade to the Wind

Short Pula - Short Documentary Films

serenada vjetru v

There was only one reason why this opera couldn't be performed. In 1937 La Scala Theatre in Milan held a contest for a new opera. The winning opera should have been La Serenata al Vento(Serenade to the Wind) composed by Aldo Finzi, but racial laws were going to be enacted in a few months, so the contest was cancelled and the prize never assigned. Aldo Finzi passed away before the end of the war and without having seen his opera staged. La Serenata al Ventohad to wait 75 years to be finally brought to life.
