A young mother and her seven-year-old son run from a violent father into the cold Zagreb night at Christmas...

SUMMARY: Mare and Janko are a young married couple whose marriage is in a crisis. Because her husband is maltreating her, Mare is forced to leave her home with their seven-year-old son Bruno at Christmas. On the cold streets of Zagreb the only person that helps them is lonely guard Milan who has been craving love and family all his life.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT: The impossibility to sustain the classical marriage, holiday hypocrisy, unbearable loneliness, craving love and the courage to find a new way are the motifs that I followed so as to analyze a decorated, consumer city together with writer Tomislav Zajec. In visual terms, we wanted the film to look like it has come straight from the street onto the big screen. In cooperation with director of photography Vanja Černjul, we were imitating surveillance cameras, quietly and imperceptibly waiting for the most intimate to break through from our characters.
