SUMMARY: Just Between Us is a mean, indiscrete Zagreb story about erotic passion whirlwinds that lie below the quiet and passive surface of everyday life and habits of the middle-class. We are introduced to two brothers Nikola and Braco, their wives Anamarija and Marta, their lovers Latica, Davorka and Tamara, and their children. Everything got mixed up in their double lives, parallel relationships, in a bittersweet story about tireless search for love and happiness.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT: Within the current sociological literature one can find the claim that marital adultery or having a love affair is the only form left of individual’s rebellion against the predictability of life. On the other hand, psychiatrists claim that deep at the root of every need to step out of the stale everyday life, in the primeval reason of all creation and rebellion, lies a strong and unpredictable sexual instinct. I have always been fascinated by the energy and imagination some people spend on love affairs and double lives. The link between these three premises leads to my personal reason for making this film. With it I go back to where I started in terms of film: to the streets, to the flats and beds of Zagreb.
