This is a highly practical workshop based around the creation of a short movie. The project will be shot, post-produced, mastered, projected and prepared for its distribution entirely in digital domain. This workshop is designed for anyone looking to learn how to produce motion picture digitally, whether they wish to implement these technologies in their own filmmaking ventures or to add a thorough understanding of these key techniques to current film making skills.

Students will be taught through an intensive programme of lectures, practical workshops and master classes using RED Camera and Apple workstations running Final Cut Studio Software for editing, while datalab tasks will be performed using RED’s native applications. Core visual effects and rendering will be composited using Shake and Adobe After Effects. These elements will be brought together and colour corrected using Apple Color before final mastering for digital distribution using Qube Master Pro.

Candidates will leave this course with a comprehensive grounding in all the technologies required to successfully produce and distribute motion picture in digital domain along with good understanding of industry best practices sufficient to implement them in their own future productions.

The workshop consists of two main modules and two master classes. Digital Imaging module and Red Camera operations and Post-Production, Mastering and Distribution Module are only for selected students while master classes are open to all visitors of Film Festival.
