The programme Hommage will present winners of respectable Vladimir Nazor, Krešo Golik and Fabijan Šovagović film awards.

We will also organize a retrospective of feature and animated films by the only Croatian Oscar winner Dušan Vukotić, a well known director, screenwriter, sketcher, animated film maker and film pedagogist.

Mr. Hrvoje Turković will choose the best Vukotić's animated films to be screened as part of the special programme. Besides that three of Vukotić's feature films (Operation Stadium, The Seventh Continent and Visitors from the Galaxy) will be screened.

 

Dušan Vukotić, a director, screenwriter, animator, sketcher and caricaturist (7 February 1927-Zagreb, 8 May 1998.) studied architecture in Zagreb. His first got acquainted with animation during the fifties at the Zagreb Duga film.

He made his debut with Kako se rodio Kićo (1951. with Josip Sudar).

1956. he finished his first independent project Nestašni robot.

His best known works are Cowboy Jimmy (1957), Veliki strah (1958), Koncert za mašinsku pušku (1958), Krava na mjesecu (1959), Čarobni zvuci (1957), Abrakadabra (1958), Rep je ulaznica (1959), Osvetnik (1958), Piccolo (1959), Igra (1962). In 1961. he was awarded an Oscar for his animated  film  Surogat (Ersatz) (the first awarded non USA film).
