fantasy/adventure, dir. David Yates
Harry Potter rides his magical broom, now at his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Fifth year at school, but also fifth sequel of the extraordinary popular literature and film serial: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. J.K.Rowling, a writer behind this world Pottermania, has announced on June 26th last year that she would conclude the story. The interesting coincidence is that it will happen during the last days of the Festival (in the night form 20th to 21st of July). That's when Harry Potter series will get its last seventh book. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will arrive to Pula just a few days after its world premieres in London and New York.

NEXT
fantasy/triller, dir. Lee Tamahori
The film Next is the last adaptation in the row based on the work by a famous American writer, futurist and visionary Philip K. Dick. The director Lee Tamahori used Dick's novel The Golden Man as model, and as it often is with his work (Exterminator, Total Recall, Minority Report) he doesn't make his audience wait, he immediately immerses them into a dynamic science-fiction thriller. Leading roles in the story about a men who can see two minutes ahead have been given to Nicholas Cage and Julianne Moore. Whether you can save the world seeing two minutes ahead is something the audience in the Arena will be the first to find out in whole Croatia, since it will be the film's national premiere.

LONELY HEARTS
criminalistic drama, dir. Todd Robinson
A brutal and disturbing true story, Lonely Hearts is more than connected with the director Todd Robinson. Except for sitting in the most important chair on the set, he was making a film about his grand father, a policeman who devoted his life to chasing a pair of seducer-killers, Martha Beck and Raymond Fernandez. This neo-noir film has satisfied all the fans of the genre. The best recommendations are its actors: Salma Hayek, Jared Leto, James Gandolfini and John Travolta. The audience in Pula will watch its Croatian premiere.

ISTRIAN PREMIERES

OCEANS THIRTEEN
crim-comedy, dir. Steven Soderbergh
When in 2001 Steven Soderbergh reached for the adaptation of the 1960. hit Ocean's Eleven he probably knew he was holding a golden goose. The original The Rat Pack crew (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and others) was replaced by famous Hollywood actors: Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon and Andy Garcia. You will watch them all along with the great Al Pacino and the femme fatal Elen Barkin in the very successful sequel – Ocean's Thirteen. The crooks are still playing crooked with the crooks and the unyielding casino owner will face bankruptcy. Warner Bross studios will definitely not be the ones to go bankrupt. The film made somewhat less than 140 million dollar after just two weeks of running.

TRANSFORMERS
action/science-fiction, dir. Michael Bay
Transformers is definitely one of this summer's most long awaited films. It is an action and science-fiction film spectacle, produced by Steven Spilberg and directed by Michel Bay, who is behind some of the most expensive productions. A final clash between the two scaring factions of the robot civilization from the distant planet Cybertron will happen right here on Earth, one of the last peace oasis in the universe. Will the Autobots manage to save our planet or will the evil Decepticons do exactly the opposite is for the audience to find out during the Istrian premiere under the beautiful (and maybe dangerous?) sky.

SHREK THE THIRD
animated commedy, dir. Chris Miller
The world's most famous ogre is the one having the loud donkey for his best friend and is called Shrek. One of the best animated sequels in the last few years is richer by one sequel, its third one. The amicable green monster has a task like nothing before: to rule the people and the country. Shrek the Third has justified the popularity of the sequel already during the first week of its running and it has earned around 400 million dollar by now. We expect a lot of visitors at the Istrian premiere as well. Even more so if we take into account that more than 50.000 people watched it during the first two weeks of the film running.
