DIRECTOR: Michael Radford was born in 1946 in New Delhi (India). He studied in United Kingdom, first at Oxford and later at the National Film and Television School for a degree in directing. He started his career as a director of documentaries (Van Morrison in Ireland). His first feature-length film is Another Time, Another Place in 1983. Radford first attracted attention with his cinematic adaptation of George Orwell’s novel 1984, shot in the year from the title. However, he achieved major success with his 1994 film Il Postino, winner of the David Lean Award for best director and two Academy Award nominations, for best director and best screenplay based on material from another medium. In 2004 he adapted William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice.

DIRECTOR: Kenneth Branagh was born in 1960 in Belfast (Northern Ireland / United Kingdom). At the age of 23 he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company but soon founded his own theatre company, the Renaissance Theatre Company. In the 1980s he appeared in films, plays, and on television. At the age of 29 he made his directorial debut with the adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Henry V, in which he played the lead role. A distinguished film director and scriptwriter, Hallström began his career on television and by making music videos for the group ABBA. He achieved international success with his 1985 film My Life as a Dog (Mitt liv som hund) that earned him two Academy Award nominations, for best director and best screenplay based on material from another medium. At the beginning of the 1980s he arrived in the USA where he collaborated with many famous actors. Hallström directed a series of highly acclaimed films, starting with the drama What’s Eating Gilbert Grape in 1993. The 1999 film The Cider House Rules earned him an Academy Award nomination for best director for the second time. SUMMARY: Do you know what WALL-E, the name of the hero, stands for? It is an acronym for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class. Behind this long term there is an engaging robot cleaner from the future which is far from bright for the planet Earth. People had to leave their habitat long time ago because their savaging of the environment disabled existence on the planet that once flourished with life. These are the circumstances in which WALL-E has to clean up tonnes of trash. However, his task is interrupted by the arrival of Eve, with which the charming robot falls in love. Does their relationship mean new life on Earth… New Pixar – Walt Disney collaboration created a charming allegory of love, science and nature. Sound designer and two-time Oscar winner Ben Burt voices WALL-E, while in the Croatian version the hero is played by Janko Rakoš. The American Eve is Elissa Knight, and the Croatian Maja Katić.
DIRECTOR: Andrew Stanton was born in 1965 in Rockport (USA). Devoted to David Lean and David Memet films, Stanton made his debut with the short animated film A Story in 1987. Specializing in 3D computer animation, he became part of the team that made the first animated feature produced using this technique, the 1995 film Toy Story, for which he won an Oscar nomination for best script. Stanton joined John Lasseter in the director’s chair to make his first animated feature A Bug’s Life in 1998. In 2003 he conquered world picture theatres with a masterpiece of 3D computer animation, Finding Nemo, which earned him an Academy Award for best animated feature. Apart from directing and scriptwriting Stanton also voices his film characters.
